Tryout Scouts was started to fix a problem we saw every season in youth sports. As a Physical Education teacher and youth baseball umpire, I spend my days either in the gym teaching movement fundamentals or on the diamond calling games.

No matter the setting, the feedback from families and coaches was always the same: finding and promoting travel tryouts was a mess. Coaches struggled to reach local talent, and parents were spending hours scrolling through fragmented Facebook groups and dead forums just to find an opportunity for their kids.

There had to be a better way to connect Illinois athletes with the right organizations.
